Includes

  • Preparation over existing tile
  • Preparation over existing timber

  • Small concrete cuts
  • Subfloor sanding
  • Feature walls and ceilings

If the existing tiles can stay, we prepare them so floorboards can be laid straight over the top. That saves taking the tiles up and getting rid of them. We prepare over existing timber floors as well.

When a job needs it, we also make small cuts in the floor slab.

Over existing tile

Whether the tiles can stay depends on the tiles and on the floor going on top.

  • An existing large-format tiled floor in an unfinished residential interior.

    We check the tiles first

Before we take the job on, we look at the tiles, either on site or from photos you send.

  • Loose oak-look boards resting on a ground, matte tile floor.

    Boards go straight over

We grind, level and prepare the existing tile so the new floorboards can be laid straight over it. The tiles don't have to come up.

More jobs we do

  • Over existing timber

We prepare over existing timber floors too. The boards are checked and flattened so the new floor can go over them.

  • Small concrete cuts

We make small cuts in the floor slab when a job needs them: for electrical conduit, PVC drainage pipes, a bathroom, or any other cut needed in the slab.

They are small, specific cuts done alongside the floor preparation. We don't take on large cutting jobs or bring in large machinery.

  • Subfloor sanding

On timber, particleboard and plywood subfloors, we sand the high joints, raised edges and cupped boards flat, ready for the new floor.

    More on floor grinding

  • Feature walls and ceilings

We lay floorboards on walls and ceilings too, like herringbone feature walls and timber-lined ceilings.

From our jobs

Questions

Can my tiles stay?

Send us photos of the tiles, or we'll come and look. It depends on the tiles and on the floor going on top.

Do you do this over timber floors too?

Yes. We prepare over existing timber floors as well as tile.

Can you cut the slab for a plumbing or electrical change?

Yes, small cuts. For example for electrical conduit, PVC drainage pipes or a bathroom, alongside the floor preparation.

Do you take on large concrete cutting jobs?

No. We make small, specific cuts only, and we don't bring in large machinery.

Tell us about your floor and we'll get back to you.
